One of Net Neighbourhood specialities is in Web Design, with a background in building
large corporate Intranet (internal company website) applications we have a great
deal of experience building all types and sizes of websites from data oriented information
sites , to personal 'media' based sites for use by friends and family.

Query Management System: |
|
A customer query management application which linked to accounts stored on the company
AS400 and entered the query details into an SQL database. The company is now able
to collate, analyse, and report on trends with a view to reducing query numbers
and complaints, this was previously impossible. To date (2005) the system has 15000+
entries and has helped point to processes within the company that needed modifying.
In turn this has led to a reduction in customer queries meaning less time and money
spent on investigation and an increase in customer satisfaction. This in turn helped
NRG in it’s bid to achieve ISO9001 status. |

Pricing Matrices: |
|
Developed a pricing matrix access system whereby a companies users can log in to
thier Intranet
through a VPN connection and view all pricing information relevant to their account.
The system can be managed remotely by the pricing manager allowing them to add and
remove users/accounts and access rights. Users are also able
to enter notes for
an account which can be viewed by all other users. This system has
saved the company millions during the years it has been in place as previously all their pricing information was posted to over 300
salespeople twice monthly! |

Employee Information: |
|
Introduced a staff database built in Flash which allowed all users to search for
name/department/job title/keyword. The system then retrieved relevant information
from their HR database including name, contact details, manager, photograph, job
title, responsibilities and other department members. This saved the company sending
out updated contact information to all offices and remote staff monthly and allowed
all users to manage their own information and keep it up to date. |

Employee Awareness: |
A key reason for this company to introduce a company Intranet was to enable all
staff to be able to see relevant company information at any time. A full employee
portal was built allowing everyone access to News, Announcements, Sports & Social
events and Vacancies. These areas are managed by appointed administration staff
from the appropriate department. These areas have reduced print and posting costs
significantly already and will continue to do so.
To add an element of fun we also developed an ebay style auction section purely
for company staff . |

Training and Support: |
|
All of the applications mentioned above were very involved and purely custom built
from scratch, in order for the company to fully understand and make good use of
them we produced all the valid training documents and suppoort material and provided
training for key members of staff who could then teach other users in thier departments. |
Evolution:
The internet is a vast resource and is constantly evolving, not only in the information
that is available but also the methods that are used to prevent it. For this reason
there is a plethora of tools and programming languages out there that are constantly
