One of the stranger aspects of PC's is that they can suffer from old age! While The simple fact of the matter is that as you use your PC more you tend to install more programs, make changes to the GUI (Graphical User Interface) like new backgrounds, flashy icons and cursors, weather reporting tools, RSS readers and a whole wealth of other twaeks and changes. Every one of these modifications has an effect on the speed of your PC.

There are many techniques and methods of reversing this 'slowing down'. Some of them are simple tweaks or programs builit direct into Windows that you can do right now. Others involve downloading a program from the internet and running through it. Others are much more difficult and involve delving into the core Windows components such as the registry. Also you will find some of these have a much more dramatic effect that others. This guide will attempt to run through many of these techniques and methods and explain them as easily as possible. On occasion some of these tools can result in harming Windows so please don't attempts them unless you clearly understand the instructions given.
