Definition:
Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited, bulk
messages. The term 'spam' can be applied to many different ' abuses' of media messaging:
instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs,
and mobile phone messaging spam. The most widely recognized form of spam, and the
one this guide is intended to deal with is e-mail spam. Descriptions of the other
types of spam can be found on
Wikipedia.
E-Mail Spam
This form of media abuse involves sending near identical e-mails to huge numbers
of e-mail addresses, quite often thousands and even into the millions! For these
mails to be classed as spam they have to have been sent 'without' the recipients
permission.
